Christopher Stoltz is a visual artist based in Los Angeles. Originally from Mount Airy, NC, he joined the military as a combat photographer.
Christopher Stoltz’s work centers on the fracturing of masculine totems and how those icons reflect and inform the environment we live in. Stoltz’s body of intimate work continually re-evaluates these memories and icons from time and place to allow for a reexamination of the visual. . Images of prior memories of romance, contemplation, catharsis and sorrow are fractured and placed in a considered way within the frame.
Stoltz earned a BFA in Photography and Imaging from Art Center College of Design and a MFA from Otis College of Art and Design.
